Maturity, immaturity, and forgiveness

Maturity: accepting responsibility for the decisions you make. Immaturity: blaming fate or other people for your problems or the consequences of your decisions. Forgiveness: understanding that, in your time (even just yesterday or today) you have done some pretty self-centered things, too, and that, in that way, you are no different from anyone else, and effectively disqualified from passing judgment on a similarly flawed fellow human being (which is not at all to say you are disqualified from having feelings about it, or from expecting better—I do, and I do).
